UMBILICAL CORD


  • Presence of two umbilical artery and one umbilical vein.

  • Presence of Wharton's jelly.
PLACENTA



  • Maternal blood and secretion of villi.

  • Placental barrier seperating maternal blood and foetal blood.
TONGUE


  • Lingual papilla and skeletal muscle in three direction.
  • Four kinds of papilla: Filliform, Fungiform, Foliate & Circumvalate.
  • First fig: Fungiform papilla.
  • Second fig: Filliform papilla.
SUPRA RENAL GLANDS


  • Outer cortex with three zones: Zona glomerulosa, Zona Fasciculata & Zona Reticularis.

  • The suprarenal medulla is composed of groups and columns of Chromaffin cells.
PITUITARY GLAND


  • Divided into three: Pars anterior, Pars intermedia, Pars posterior.

  • Thrombocops and thrombopits are present.


THYROID GLAND


  • Follicles with colloid materials.

  • Cuboidal epithelium and para follicular cells.

LUNG



  • Sections of alveoli with squamous epithelium.

  • Intra-pulmonary bronchi & bronchioles.


TRACHEA


  • Pseudostratified squamous columnar epithelium.

  • 'C' shaped hyaline cartilage.

PANCREAS



  • Islets of langherhans.

  • It is both exocrine & endocrine gland.
OESOPHAGUS


  • Form layers of gastro-intestinal tract.

  • Oesophageal glands in submucosa.
MUCOUS SALIVARY GLAND


  • Lightly stained mucus acini with few ducts.

  • Peripherally placed nucleus.

  • Eg: Sub lingual salivary gland.

MIXED SALIVARY GLAND



  • More serous and less mucous acini.

  • Serous demilunes.

  • Arranged in lobes & lobules.

  • eg: Submandibular salivary gland


SEROUS SALIVARY GLAND




  • Darkly stained serous acini with plenty of duct.

  • Sub centrally placed nucleus.
  • Eg: Parotid Gland
